Sensitive environments
The cemetery, Skogskyrkogården, needs a new crematorium that is connected to the existing one. The existing crematorium does not meet the current requirements for working environment, but it will nevertheless remain in place as the building has been classified as a religious cultural heritage. A prestigious commission in a sensitive environment that the architect Johan Celsing won in a competition with his contribution Sten i Skogen.
Our task is to create a brick building with a cellar and a ground floor. The roof will be built using pavement bricks which are considerably heavier than roof bricks and will feature roof drainage by means of hidden gutters. The internal surfaces will be made out of white concrete, with grey concrete used in non-visible areas. Our employees have assessed the construction based on the cost in the budget proposal without compromising the quality or the aesthetics.
