A whiskey village in Gävle
Gävle municipality develops its expansion area Västra Kungsbäck by letting Mackmyra Whisky expand its business with a new export distillery, stores above and below ground, a visitors’ facility with a restaurant and accommodation and buildings for associated crafts such as barrel making and glassblowing. The area has in the past been used as a military training area and ranges.
This means that geotechnology and environmental testing has played a major part in the assignment. The first stage involves making detailed plans for new roads, a new bridge and walk and cycle paths to and inside the area. The design also covers the supply of e.g. electricity, water and sewage, communications and lighting. We also plan the process water for the distillery itself.
