The new Marieholm Bridge is an example of our methods, both internally and externally. Increased rail traffic on the Bohus-rail and the Hamnbanan has created a need for another railway across the river.
The commission involves establishing a railway plan and systems document for a section that is 1,5 km long, including the Marieholm Bridge. The bridge is just over 1 km long, 100 metres of which cross the river and a nearby stream, in an environmental protected area. The section that crosses the river consists of a combined pivot and lift bridge.
The design has been governed by track geometry, bridge type and extension possibilities. The future bridge will be a combined pivot and lift bridge and will be situated just over 70 metres south of the existing bridge.
