New tracks in Stockholm
The City Tramway runs from Kungsholmen in the west to Värtan in the east and represents an extension of the line Djurgårdslinjen. We assist at the early stages with matters such as conducting line and preliminary studies, and at the later stages with issues such as systems document, railway plans and construction documents. We also work on street environment design, accessibility and other important parameters.
The design of the tram line is coordinated with plans and studies of new areas and infrastructure. The extension aims to increase accessibility to the Djurgården area and the new development areas in the east and west. The focus is on accessibility without any major negative impact on traffic. Surrounding traffic is therefore taken into account when designing and laying tracks. Bicycles in particular is a key part of the planning.
