The City Tunnel consists of parallel tunnels running under the Malmö city centre. We have been contributing our expertise to this project since 1999.
The work started with a preliminary study, railway survey and railway plans for the entire City Tunnel. At the design stage we prepared construction documents for tracks above ground, structures, station buildings and platform environments. We also drew up building permits for Hyllie station, technical facilities and pumping stations. A comprehensive action plan for the project’s emergency services was also drawn up, as well as reports for water activity, noise and vibration in preparation for the application to the Environment Court. In the building stage we offered client support for noise, vibrations and structure-borne noise as well as for geotechnics at Malmö Central Station. The official opening took place in December 2010, six months ahead of schedule.
