The need to transform and move the town of Kiruna because of the local mining operation has been noted world-wide.
Tyréns was awarded a project commissioned by Kiruna municipality to prepare various types of surveys to be used as the foundation for the upcoming work. We scored top marks in several areas; traffic surveys, landscape analysis, ground investigations, environmental surveys, hydrology, energy surveys and ways of implementation. The first assignment involves a study of what property will be affected by the expansion of the mine at various time intervals until 2033 and the scope of these impacts.
