Changing the area surrounding the central station in Växjö will result in a development and renewal of the citys core which will make Växjö more alive and attractive as a city.
The project contains 450-500 new housing, commercial, service, office space opportunities as well as a Wolrd Trade Center and parking facilities capable of accomodating about 750 cars. The railway yard will also be reconstructed to allow for the increase in traffic and a new Travel Centre will be integrated in that reconstruction. Current projects april-2011: drawing up a detailed development plan that includes EIA, having discussions with prospective developers as well as designing the railway yard.
