CADVÄ

CADVÄ: Tyréns system for documenting district heating systems.

CADVÄ is a system for information related to district heating systems. The information concerns location and properties for heating lines and connection points.

Examples of what will register in CADVÄ:

  • Main line - Ventilation well - District heating central
  • Branching lines - Emptying well - Boiler central
  • Service line - Valve well - Changes in dimension
  • Indoor overhead line - Valve chamber - Bends
  • Malfunctioning line - T-piece - Joint/Cutting joint
  • Bottomed conduit
  • Pressure reducing station
  • Pump station

CADVÄ is a system that allows you to collect and process data concerning your district heating system into one system. You then have the satisfaction of knowing where your equipment is and its status. The system for documenting the district heating systems contains a database and a graphical system that processes graphic information.

Information that can be stored in the system is the manufacturing materials, dimensions, construction year, and manufacturer and model designations for example. The process of selecting the information that is to be stored is based upon the needs of our clients while at the same time it is possible to maintain the information for future use. All kinds of information, whether it concerns location or properties, are stored in a database. This solution, besides allowing for several people to work on the document at the same time, makes it easier to search for and find parts of your district heating systems. The search can tell you what kind of equipment it is and where to find it on a map.

User friendly interface

The interface in CADVÄ is based on Windows and sports pop-up menus and dialogue windows. This makes CADVÄ much more user friendly and it will make it easier to plot the district heating system on the map. The software provides the user with support while plotting and the work process has been simplified so that you simply choose a of connection point, place it on the map, choose the next connection point, place it on the map as well and finish the process by choosing a line and clicking the two connection points.

Operation and maintenance

The maintenance required to prevent malfunctions is an important part of securing the highest operational security in the long run. That is why we have made it possible to input scheduled maintenance of the different parts of the district heating system in CADVÄ. That way you will receive the planned maintenance on the map. Even reported problems related to the structure are included.

The maintenance information can be transferred to your field computers, such as a Pocket PC or a lap-top. The operational engineers who will be performing the maintenance cad see directly where the scheduled maintenance is on the map, and by clicking the corresponding line or connection point on the map they can report the maintenance as done. If you come across a malfunctioning that requires repairs, you can easily record it on your Pocket PC or lap-top and it will quickly and automatically input the information on the map when you return to the office. That way the one in charge of the network can see what kind of problems and reports there are and he/she can produce statistics from this.

CADVÄ Client

More detailed information concerning your clients is stored in CADVÄ Client. The software processes information related to properties and the client's equipment. CADVÄ Client connects it to the graphic information, meaning you can click on a district heating centre and instantly receive information concerning the client and the property. In CADVÄ Client you can search for a district heating centre and instantly find it on a map.  CADVÄ Client also contains functions for processing the measurements as well as a history of the measurements.

CADVÄ Customer Support

More and more district heating companies are increasing their sales to an increasing number of clients. Plenty of lesser clients mean plenty of information to keep track of in order to be able to send invoices etc. We have now added a new component to the CADVÄ system that will assist with this. In the new component you can create dispatches, keep track of answers, a mailing log and what kind of deal you struck.

The solution also provides new and improved possibilities for analysing the results of the retail profits. You can receive information concerning the retail profits, existing heating systems, the client's interest and the status of the sale on a map for example. The information is presented clearly on the map and is understandable to every one - from the project team down to the board of directors. The components of the CADVÄ System:

  • CADVÄ 2000 - The basic module in the system that contains the software for processing the graphical information and the connection to the database containing the information of the properties.
  • CADVÄ Client - With this component you can store more information related to the clients, their properties, their equipment and their measurement process.
  • CADVÄ Customer Support - The component that provides you with support in selling district heating systems with results and status presented on the map.
  • CADVÄ MapGuide Publisher - The component that publishes the information in CADVÄ so that it can be viewed in Autodesk MapGuide with Web technology.
  • CADVÄ Web server - This component allows all users to search for and find information concerning the properties of the different parts in the district heating system by using Web technology.
  • CADVÄ Pocket PC - Pocket PC is a component that makes it possible to download both the map and the property information to a Pocket PC.

The information in CADVÄ consists of a geometric section and a property data section. The geometric section is constructed of objects like wells, lines and district heating centres for example. These are processed with the help of Autodesk Map in CADVÄ. The property data section includes data on the properties of the different objects, such as what kind of lines, fabrication and capacity. These data will be stored in a database that uses the MS Access format.

Autodesk was founded in 1982 and it is the world's leading supplier of softwares, construction solutions, design and digital information. The software is most often used for the construction industry, GIS, manufacturing industry, digital media and wireless communications. AutoCAD's own internal sketching format, DWG, is a quick and well developed format for graphic use.

The database processor Access from Microsoft is one of the world's most commonly used database possessor for Windows. Its format, MDB, is used for a number of applications. That format can be used by the other programs in MS Office as well.

CADVÄ is ideally used in a network and together with multiple user licences for Autodesk Map this becomes a flexible and economical environment for multiple users. CADVÄ can be used with Autodesk Map 5/6/2004/3d 2005.
