Sweden's first safety park is now open

Sweden's first joint safety park for the construction industry was inaugurated on the 7th of October next to Arlanda airport, outside Stockholm. In the park, it will be possible to exercise and train on various risk situations on a building site.

The initiators of the safety park are Sveriges Byggindustrier and Tyréns is participating in the project as the assignment manager for all planning.

The safety park is a physical training facility where those who work in the construction industry can train safety. The park has a total area of 15,000 square metres. Currently, there are 15 different scenarios including everything from working at heights to asbestos, safe excavation and ergonomics. The stations can be adapted as needed in order to train on an profusion of differing risk elements.

"It is nice that there are so many companies involved in the park and it is important that we are able to exchange experiences between all actors about accidents in the workplace. As consultants, we see what happens on building sites and we can give one another feedback so we can, together, prevent workplace accidents," Anna Pihlqvist, assignment manager at Tyréns, says.

  • Water and sewage project planning
