Lighting in the Stockholm Concert Hall

Entering the main foyer of Stockholm's Concert Hall, the visitor is met by three large, specially designed chandeliers. Stockholm's Concert Hall is undergoing a fundamental renovation, focusing particularly on the main foyer.

The assignment from the Concert Hall's Foundation includes examining the extent to which the historical lighting throughout the building is accessible.

Deike Ladwig, light designer at Tyréns, has drawn the new chandeliers specifically for the Concert Hall. The chandeliers were supplied by Örsjö Belysning. The design has its origins in the Stardust fitting, but it soon took on a character of its own in a much larger scale and with different proportions. The technology has also been brought up to date with new LED luminaires, resulting in an effect that is surprisingly similar to the atmospheric light from an incandescent lamp filament.
