Go:Smart and Send Smart

Go:Smart and Send Smart . Sustainable personal and freight transport offer a global challenge, in the Gothenburg region, and not least in the city of Gothenburg. The city has the goal of growing in a sustainable manner, which requires development of the transport system and the behaviour of those who use it. Tyréns is participating actively in the Go:Smart and Send Smart development projects which are in progress between 2012-2014, and are striving for an innovative development of sustainable personal transport and goods distribution in the city environment.

Go:Smart
Go:Smart is aimed at individuals, to simplify their travel and prioritise sustainable travel. The project is developing and testing travel brokerage services that offer different transportation alternatives - public transport, car pooling, car rentals, bicycle loan, electric bicycles - and an application as an aid and support for planning and administration of all. Go:Smart is testing the concept in 100 households in Gothenburg.

The vision of Go:Smart is that households in large cities shall choose access to mobility via the app instead of owning a car. This would enable major cities around the world to be greener, safer, denser and more attractive.

Send Smart
Send Smart is investigating suitable solutions for optimising the sustainable transport of goods in Gothenburg. The project is limited to the three important areas where various sustainable solutions are to be tested.

  • Goods distribution
  • Construction and Civil Engineering
  • Waste management and recycling

The solutions that have been identified and tested within these areas shall be characterised by the ability to balance the requirements of the environment, efficiency and society's acceptance, together with a long term view.
